Step 2 of 13

Have a frontier model write the design as code

Describe the part in plain language and let the model emit OpenSCAD or CadQuery. Code-based CAD is diffable, parametric and easy to fix.

Code-first CAD is the unlock. A model that writes OpenSCAD or CadQuery gives you a parametric file you can review, version in git and re-run with new measurements. Text-to-CAD services such as Zoo collapse the loop further.

Paste your spec from step 1, state the process you will use (laser cut, CNC, FDM print) and ask for named parameters at the top of the file. Ask the model to list every assumption it made, then challenge each one.

Keep the design in a repository. Every iteration in steps 5 to 9 becomes a commit, and a customer-adjustable version in step 11 is just a different set of parameters.
