How the directory is compiled

The directory is built automatically from open data and the manufacturers' own websites. This page explains what that means, so you can judge how far to trust a listing. Data as of 2026-10-03.

Sources

We do not copy marketplace or directory databases, we do not log in anywhere, and we do not evade blocks. The crawler obeys robots.txt.

What we detect

For each company we read the home page and up to three service pages and match keywords in several languages for eleven processes (laser cutting, CNC machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, injection molding, PCB assembly, die casting, welding, waterjet cutting, metal stamping, surface finishing), seven materials, seven certifications, order-size signals (prototype, small batch, series), online-quote wording and the CAD formats the company says it accepts. We store these facts, not the text itself. We store no personal data such as employee names or personal email addresses.

Confidence

Strong match means at least two distinct keywords for the process were found. Possible means one keyword was found and it is the company's only detected process. Companies with weaker evidence are not listed. Confidence describes the text evidence, not the quality of the manufacturer.

Registered companies

A company can register itself. We check that the email domain matches the website before we mark the listing as registered. Registered listings are shown first.

Freshness

Websites are re-read about every 45 days, failed fetches are retried, and sites that disallow our crawler are not read again for 90 days. Every directory page shows the date of the data it was built from.

Limits

Corrections and removal

Write to us through claim, correct or remove a listing. Removal requests are honoured and the domain is not added again. The data is also available as open data with its licenses.
